Planning estimates only
PrepMyBuild provides estimated material quantities, shopping-list suggestions and cost-planning ranges based on the measurements and assumptions entered. Results are for planning purposes and are not engineering drawings, building-code determinations, contractor specifications, bids, or professional advice.
Verify important inputs and requirements
You are responsible for checking dimensions, product coverage or yield, waste factors, site conditions, local codes, permits and manufacturer instructions before purchasing materials or starting work. Structural, electrical, plumbing, safety-critical and code-dependent decisions should be confirmed with an appropriately qualified professional.
Prices and availability
Displayed cost ranges use editable example or user-entered material rates and may exclude delivery, tax, labor, equipment, preparation and other project costs. Actual pricing and product availability can differ by supplier, location and date.
Project-description feature
The description feature helps translate plain-language project details into structured calculator inputs. Review all populated measurements and assumptions before calculating. Formula-based calculator logic—not the free-form description text—produces the material estimate.
Retailer and contractor options
Retailer affiliate links and contractor lead submission are not currently active. If commercial partner features are enabled later, PrepMyBuild will provide relevant disclosures and update these terms or related notices as appropriate.
Availability and changes
Features, calculator assumptions and content may change as PrepMyBuild improves. Saved plans currently rely on local browser storage unless a shareable link is created.
